Air France wine list distinguished with an award

At the World’s Best Wine Lists Awards 2019 ceremony, Air France has received the Best Airline Wine List in the World award for the second year running. This is one of the most prestigious distinctions in this area awarded by the British magazine The World of Fine Wine.

The jury, comprising rigorous experts, critics and sommeliers, distinguished the diversity and outstanding quality of the wine selection proposed by Air France in its different travel cabins. The award is also a mark of recognition of the company’s constant care and effort invested to offer the best French wines.

One of the best wine and spirits cellars in the sky

The company regularly receives awards for the quality of its offer. In February 2019, at the prestigious Business Traveller’s Cellars in the Sky Awards 2018 ceremony, the company was once again rewarded for the exceptional quality of the wines and Champagnes served on board its La Première cabin. This year, Air France was notably honoured with the prize for the best first class Champagne with its prestigious Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2006 served in the La Première cabin.

Discover the wealth of French wine varieties

Every two months, Air France renews its offer of wines and Champagnes available on board its flights to enable customers to discover the wealth of French wine varieties. In all its travel cabins, Paolo Basso, voted world’s best sommelier in 2013, in cooperation with Thierry Desseauve and Michel Bettane, authors of the bettane&desseauve French wine guide sign the Air France wine and Champagne list.

Every year, Air France serves 800,000 bottles of wine in La Première and Business class and 750,000 bottles of Champagne, including in Economy class. All the wines and spirits are chosen for their capacity to adapt to the constraints linked to the particular environment of air transport, particularly the dry air and cabin pressure that modify how tastes are perceived.

The Air France Wine Cellar

Since May 2019, Air France has been offering everyone the opportunity to prolong the pleasure of enjoying the best wines, Champagnes and spirits with the Air France Wine Cellar. The company’s customers also enjoy special offers and invitations to exclusive tastings, specially reserved for them.

Customers can thus order the wines, Champagnes and spirits served during their flight both on the ground and on board thanks to the Air France Connect connectivity offer. The ideal solution for directly ordering the wine that you enjoy at 30,000 feet and prolonging the travel experience with Air France back home.
