The only bubbly being served was Petaluma Croser, a sparkling white wine from South Australia, much to the dismay of the high-end clientele frequenting the classy new lounge.
This has now been attended to by heads of the airline, reports Australian Business Traveller, who have made sure the lounge now stocks a proper champagne in Perrier Jouet – the same fizz that’s available at the Qantas first class lounges in Sydney, Melbourne and Los Angeles.
While it doesn’t appear on the menu on the lounge, First Class travellers, Platinum One frequent flyers and members of the invitation-only Chairman’s Lounge visiting the lounge will be poured a glass of Perrier Jouet on request, while the Petaluma Croser remains on the drinks menu for everybody else.
Though certainly a nice champagne, is it really worth hiding the bottles of Perrier Jouet under the counter?
