The Maldives will be the first country in the world to launch a loyalty programme

When it comes to loyalty programmes, we often refer to airlines and hotel chains. But that is about to change! The Maldives will roll out its three-tiered loyalty program – Maldives Border Miles.

For many, a trip to the Maldives is a “once-in-a-lifetime” holiday, but for those lucky enough to visit the country more frequently, it will soon become possible to earn points under the country’s loyalty programme, Maldives Border Miles. The membership will have three levels: Aida (Bronze), Antara (Silver), Abaarana (Gold).

Tourists enrolled in this program will earn points through every visit to the country. Additional points are rewarded for visits on special occasions. And, similar to other loyalty programmes, you move up tiers when you reach a certain number of points. Privileges and other benefits will become, according to the Maldives Border Miles, enhanced and more exclusive the higher tier you possess.

However, the details of the loyalty program have not been released. At this point, we can only speculate about the benefits.

Given the abundance of luxury hotels in the Maldives, we can hope that this will be another possibility to redeem hotel nights, upgrades and freebies at some of the fantastic hotels in the country.
